Warner Bros. and Sprint have begun promoting the animated webisodes I have been working on for the TV show SmallVille. The webisodes will start airing on cwtv.com and Sprint mobile phones.
Below are two previews Warner Bros. put together for the episodes:
SmallVille Legends - Kara and the Chronicles of Krypton Preview #1:
SmallVille Legends - Kara and the Chronicles of Krypton
Preview #2:
Each "webisode" runs around 3 to 4 minutes and will air on mobile phones, the web, and possibly on this season's DVDs as well.
I will post more previews and possibly full episodes once everything completely launches.
If you have a Sprint mobile phone with the streaming video option activated - let me know! I would love to see how the episodes look on the cell phones : )
My profile on the website GameStrata.com was featured in the May 2008 issue of Game Informer Magazine. Game Informer Magazine - one of the leading video game magazines, has a one page article about the momentum GameStrata has been building among gamers.
GameStrata is letting you prove your skills with its all-in-one, cross-platform stat tracking and social networking. You can sign up for free and benefit from GameStrata's stat collection and leaderboards that sort data in categories which the developers themselves hadn't even thought of yet.

I've been an active member on GameStrata, posting and answering video game related questions for a few months now. I think it has a lot of potential and it will be interesting to see what they come up with in the future. Check out an interview Game Informer did with the creators of GameStrata back in February.
I included a few more images I scanned from the magazine below:
The profile shows my Xbox Live Gamertag (R080T), photo, age, recent games played, recent achievements unlocked as well as my recent activity on the site.
I went ahead and gave ebay another shot today. After my crummy experience earlier this week, I took a little time to educate myself and ask around for some tips on how the site works. The research paid off! I put in my final bid with about 15 seconds remaining in the auction and won!
My winning bid of $53.63 is nearly half of the retail price ($99.99) - I think I made out pretty good! It will be shipped from Wisconsin and I expect it to arrive some time early next week!
Last night I had my very first ebay experience - and let me tell you, it was NOT fun! I know, its 2008 - how can it possibly be my very first time? I've done plenty of looking around on ebay, I just never actually bid on anything.
I am in the market for a universal remote - something I can control all of my electronics with. I'm not talking about one of those clunky walmart remotes that grandma uses - I want something digital and something that will actually utilize EVERY button my original controlers have.
Not only is it designed with my Xbox 360 in mind, but it's the cheapest of the Harmony remotes Logitech makes. It retails for roughly $100. $100 for a remote? A little too steep, so I figured I would check around for a better deal on ebay.
The listing I found had a current bid of $44 - factory sealed with warranty. I watched it for a few days and the price didn't go up at all. So, last night I hopped on about 15 minutes before the auction closed and sure enough it was still at $44 - perfect! I put in a bid of $48 and was "winning" at that point. I sat there, refreshing the webpage over and over - 2 minutes left.... 1 minute left... 30 seconds left... and I was still winning! The countdown hit 14 seconds left and BAM! I was out bid. I tried to get one last bid in, but it was too late. Some one else beat me by one dollar and 35 cents...
I was pissed.
I called up my Dad - a veteran ebay buyer and seller, and asked him if what happend was common, or did I just get screwed!? He told me not only is it common, its to-be-expected these days. Aparently there are little computer programs you can run that will go in and out-bid the top bidder at the last few seconds of the auction. FUCKING CHEATING ROBOT BIDDERS!
I don't like to lose - and to know that I had ZERO control over the bid anyway was infuriating! I don't think I will be ebaying again anytime soon - but at the same time I wouldn't mind getting in there and outbidding the fucker that unleashed his auto-bid robot on me... Someday I will get my revenge... Someday...
The developers of the new SOCOM Confrontation video game for the PS3 are looking to take on Call of Duty 4 as the top online console shooter. It's a bold statement, with Call of Duty 4 pulling in 1.3 million gamers EVERYDAY. SOCOM may want to re-evaluate their strategy after looking at their new screenshots...
Here is a screenshot from SOCOM Confrontation on the PS3:
SOCOM Confrontation - Multiplayer (Playstation 3)
Now, take a look at a screenshot of Call of Duty 4 on the XBOX 360:
Call of Duty 4 - multiplayer (XBOX 360)
I don't think there is a comparison. The dull textures and lack of character detail is nothing compared to what gamers have come to expect with the current next-gen games. Both SOCOM and COD4 offer vastly different styles of gameplay, not to mention SOCOM is a third-person view game, while COD4 is a first person view. SOCOM should be striving to match what Ubisoft did with Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.
The SOCOM series of games are nostalgic for me, that is why I am so excited to see a next gen title from the series. SOCOM 2 on the PS2 was the first online-multiplayer game I ever played... I met some great friends on that game and it really opened my eyes to the world of online gaming.
I wanted to buy a PS3 this summer - just for this game.... Looking at what I have seen so far - Sony has to step it up if they want my $500+ dollars!
